Kacey, meet Strawberry!

Well I'm convinced today that good karma is sending all the redheads my way! I got a little baby princess this morning. She was wearing this cute little pink outfit and I remembered the good looking strawberries I had in my fridge, so I brought one into play...



I love how it turned out. What more can I say about Kacey? She's perfect, and she made for some pretty darn perfect portraits. I can't wait to see her again crawling around with a full head of hair. Here are a few of my favorites from this session...

Waiting for a baby brother

When Karla & Bill came to me with Callum a few days ago, I'm convinced they were a little concerned about the result of our shoot. Callum was literally bouncing off the walls with excitement, which can look a little difficult. But that kind of energy is always a good thing in a portrait session. Everything looks fantastic and I can't wait to show them the rest!

There's something about Norah

It could be that she's a redhead, or that adorable little bob, or that curious look she gave me, or the way she handled a cheerio. Whatever it was, Norah stole my heart!

Monkeying Around

A few days ago I hit Withrow Park with these two little cuties from the neighbourhood and we had a great time as I followed them around the playground. Nothing like a nice splash of color on the blog!

THE MOMMY TEST

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Mommy, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly. "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.

"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy." "Exactly" I replied back with a big smile on my face.

Deux petits miracles

Photographing Noemie & Samuel was extra special because of how far they've come; these two little cookies were born prematurely and had a bit of a struggle on their way into this world, but look at them now! Thriving on their first birthday and filling the hearts of their parents with all kinds of good things.

It's Lucy!

Ok, guess what my favorite Lucy move was.



Lucy is a cutie! I had alot of fun with her and her parents last week. I got back into the family feet photography!





I've been seeing alot of babies between 9mos to a year lately, which means I've been having a blast looking for those lil' "teef" coming through. Lucy had some cute ones!

I have two words for my session with Jet & Tasmine: FUN & LOUD. I swear my ears ring just looking at the pictures. But how could I put a stop to any of the chaos when I knew this is how it looked??








Usually I have to be quick to capture the excitement. But for this shoot, I had to be quick to catch a quiet moment!

Mignonne Madeleine

It's not just Madeleine's name that's lovely; Michelle & Chris are definitely guilty of having brought a beautiful child into this world.

I met Madeleine last week and she brought me everything that's great about a young baby session: excited new parents...



A lovely new mama, completely enamored...



A brand new daddy head over heels in love...



And of course, the prize jewel...



Love-love-love the hair. And this... I love what baby girls do with their hands, they're such lovely & poised little princesses.
