My last session yesterday was with Patrick and his parents, and it was pretty much the cherry on top of a great weekend! Aside from being downright gorgeous....
... Patrick was a firecracker!
One of my favorite things about this family was the lovely dynamics between parent/child. In the end, the session felt more like a wild play date captured!

Icing on the cake
Catherine & Stephen!
I had a great time photographing Catherine & Stephen yesterday. They both had really fun, distinct personalities... and Catherine was just a darling for the camera. Here are a few of my favorites!
Il était une fois, Sophie!
The cutest thing about my session with Sophie was that she perked up and smiled at me every time I spoke French to her! It just doesn't get cuter than that, really.
I saw this little doll first thing on Saturday morning, and there were no complaints here! It was a great start to an awesome weekend.
Everything that goes up must come down! Here's my favorite part of babies getting cranky:
When babies get cranky, out come the mama-moves... the cuddles, the soothing words, the little songs, the sweet hugs. I love it. It's my camera candy.
Enjoy the sneak peeks, Melanie & Thomas!
A lofty afternoon at Tanya & Ray's
Since they live just around the corner, I met with Tanya & Ray at their loft on Saturday for their maternity session. I don't usually travel with my little studio, but I couldn't resist when they told me they lived in a loft. How could I say no to a creative space like that?
It was cool to work in a space that's such a contrast to mine. It was also nice to see an expecting couple! It's been raining babies lately, I hadn't seen a bump in some time. Congratulations, and enjoy the peek, Tanya & Ray!

Introducing....
I'm starting a Birthday Club! So if receiving coupons & offers on everything from sessions to prints & canvasses sounds like fun to you, sign your kiddos up to be members of my Birthday Club!
It's not complicated, and you don't have to be an existing client to apply. Just send me an e-mail with your child or children's full name(s) and birthdate(s), and I'll reply with confirmation I've received everything in due form.
Are you still expecting? Keep me in mind and reply when you've had your little munschkin!
Congratulations, Allison & Brian!
Oh, I had a treat this afternoon! Just a few weeks after meeting Allison & Brian as a beaming pregnant couple, I got to meet Clara for the first time.
This little cookie is just a doll... tiny and perfect and such a sweet little jewel of a baby. Here are a few of my favorites from this session.

Lola's Angels
I had a great shoot this afternoon with Lola & Michael's gorgeous, gorgeous kids. I know, I know... talk is talk, but look at these kids:
This session was so much fun, so light-hearted, so easy. There were great relationships and rapports shared between family members that made the whole process just flow beautifully.
I have to say that for a long time, the thought of a session with more than two children used to intimidate me a little, but lately, I've really taken a liking to it. As well as family portraits! Because I prefer to be an observer as opposed to a director setting up poses, I used to really not look forward to composing family portraits, but this past year, I've really been enjoying it. I've stopped trying to orchestrate the ultimate un-posed organized portrait and with little direction, have simply asked families to just "be" together, and what do you know... when done organically, magic just happens.
The best way to celebrate mother's day
Today I met Diane, who decided that a photo shoot with her little cutie-patootey Anthony would be the best Mother's Day present she could give herself this year. I have to agree! What better way to celebrate motherhood than to honor it in photographs?
Here are a few peeks from this shoot... needless to say, it was love at first click for me!
It's not too late to celebrate Mother's Day with portraits. I do offer gift certificates for everything from sessions to canvasses, so if there's a mom in your life who's world could use a little rocking right now, give me a call and we'll make it happen.

This is my 100th Post!
So strange to think this is the 100th time I do this. Time does fly when you're having fun!
Well I have to chat about The Babytime Show of last weekend. First of all, congratulations to Brenda H, who won my draw for a Classic Session. I'm looking forward to meeting her and her two boys in the upcoming weeks.
The show really was a treat for me! Honestly, when I get to these things, I start to wonder whether I'm doing it for business or for the baby parade!
The other reason I loved being there was that when I'm surrounded by so many people and get to talk to people about my work, I realize that I'm alone most of the time when I'm working! I work from home, so if I'm not shooting, I'm working by myself and I don't get to do much schmoozing. That's a big part of what made the weekend a real pleasure.
According to the ballots signed by those I met over the weekend, I spoke to at least 240 people over the course of those three days! I think that about satiated the social butterfly in me.

What about Noah??
I went off to the trade show this past weekend without uttering a peek about Kerry's session! How could I?? I must have lost my head.
I got some great shots of Kerry, Adam & little Noah when they came by not long ago. It was an easy breezy session with a sweet little boy and a gorgeous mum & dad. My favorites were definitely the parent shots... I love parent photography. Could be the clock ticking, but it just gets me every time. It's so intimate, so warm, so sweet.
Here are some winners from this session!

One Lucky Guy
Ted's got it all! Gorgeous little princess, adorable baby girl, and a beautiful wife. And I've got proof! Check it out...
Tough Guys!
When Molly wrote me and asked me if I could handle three boys, I thought: "She does it every day, why couldn't I be brave enough to do it for an hour or two?". And so I did. And I'm not going to say I didn't break a sweat... there was sweat! But there was also ridiculous fun, tons of laughs, and many great shots!
Enjoy the sneak peek, Molly!

Meet me at The Babytime Show!
Haven't had a chance to meet me yet? Want to chat with me again? Or just have an itchy shopping bone that needs scratching? Come by The Babytime Show this weekend at the International Center in Mississauga (6900 Airport Rd), and say hello!
I'll be there, along with a few others, I think. There's this girl named Dora that's going to be there, too. (hee hee!)
If you're looking for me, I'm booth #113. This weekend and the following 2 weeks are going to be the last opportunity to book a session at the current prices on my website. My fees will be increasing May 1st. I'll be blogging to talk about all of this in just a few days. Fear not; there will be options!
Cheers, and happy weekend! It might actually be a good one, so leave your rain boots at home!

I said it once, I'll say it again...
I love redheads! Love 'em!
Today I met Ken & Susi's little angels, Natalie and Amanda. And yes... they were as sweet as they look!
Italian Princess VS Daddy's Nose
(Daddy didn't have a chance!)
I met this little doll on Friday. When she came in, she was still asleep in her carrier so the first thing I saw were eyelashes that went on for miles.
And then those eyes opened up, and they couldn't possibly have been wider and prettier!
This family was simply a joy to photograph.
Coming Soon: Princess Walks!
What's cuter than a little chubby-thighed, giggling baby? Why, one that's wobbling her way into her first steps!
I met Meera's little girl last weekend and she was just a treat! Here are a few peeks at this session.
Itty-bitty-Cohen!
I was really looking forward to this one! Two months ago I photographed this little guy before he made his appearance into the world. Well he was worth the wait!
Do I have to go on about how exciting it is to meet a pregnant couple and then get to catch up with them a few weeks later when the little cookies decide to show their noses? It's a thrill. Most people have friends here and there that are pregnant and share their happiness with them. I get to do it over and over and over... I am so spoiled.
Here's a few peeks at my session with Erik & Kim's little Cohen.
Here comes handsome!
Last weekend I met Zach and his parents for his first portrait session. Zach is a colicky baby, and I had to mention it because I think this is a perfect example of why parents shouldn't concern themselves with or use problems like these as an excuse to wait to have their child photographed.
It's really important for me to have my clients (and potential clients) know that when you come to me, I don't expect you to bring me a perfect smiling "robot" child. There's no such thing! I know it, I anticipate it, and I prepare myself for it. My photoshoots are not timed for this reason, and they are spaced out to allow for the unexpected. There is no pressure, I have an infinite amount of patience, and compassion.
This is why:
It's always worth it in the end. Zach's portraits are just precious, and I'm so happy we were all able to relax and take the time to make this happen. Look at those eyes!!
Two down, one to go!
I often wonder what must be going through a child's mind when they're told there's a baby coming.... and it's coming out of a belly! I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the strange way the universe works at 26; imagine at 3 & 5!
I met Abby & Thomas with their mum not long ago.
The occasion was the celebration of an upcoming arrival. I love these family/maternity sessions because of my style of photography. As an observer, during a session with two kids and an expecting mom, I have a slew of lovely moments to capture.
This below was my very favorite shot... could it get sweeter than that? Really?
